The pairing logic

Deer velvet antler has been used for over 2,000 years in Chinese and Korean herbalism as a yang tonic, traditionally supporting sustained vitality and recovery. It naturally contains amino acids, peptides, collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin.

Schisandra berry (Schisandra chinensis) is known in traditional Chinese herbalism as the "five flavor berry" (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, all at once). Rich in lignans and polysaccharides. Traditionally used to support stress adaptation, mental clarity, and steady energy.

Vanilla bean (Vanilla planifolia) is co-extracted with the antler and berry. It refines the flavor profile and rounds out the earthy notes without compromising the structure of the formula.

Deer velvet alone can feel hot or jangly. Schisandra is the classical balancing partner that has been paired with it for over a thousand years. Together they create a more complete tonic than either ingredient on its own.

Why triple extraction

Three solvents in one bottle: purified water, vegetable glycerin, and grain alcohol. Each solvent pulls different active compounds the others can't reach.

• Water captures water-soluble compounds: polysaccharides, glycoproteins, free amino acids.
• Glycerin captures heat-sensitive compounds that alcohol can damage.
• Alcohol reaches alkaloids, lignans, and lipid-soluble peptides.

The result is a fuller-spectrum tincture than a single-solvent or dual-extraction product can deliver. Most tinctures on the market are alcohol-only. Triple extraction is more work, costs more, and produces a product that traditional formulators have been making for centuries.

Deer velvet antler extract

Cervus elaphus (antler velvet)

The soft, fuzzy stage of antler growth before it hardens into bone. Naturally contains a profile of amino acids, peptides, collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin.

Used for over 2,000 years in traditional Chinese and Korean medicine. Classified in traditional herbalism as a primary yang tonic, with documented use to support sustained vitality, recovery, and active lifestyles.

Our deer velvet is harvested ethically and sourced from established suppliers in the international deer velvet industry, which is the most regulated category of antler velvet production globally.

Schisandra berry extract

Schisandra chinensis (fruit)

The "five flavor berry" of traditional Chinese herbalism, called Wu Wei Zi. Named for carrying all five primary flavors (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent) at once, which is rare in nature.

Active compounds include lignans (schisandrin, schisandrin B, gomisin A) and polysaccharides. Traditionally valued as a liver and longevity tonic, and used to support stress adaptation, mental clarity, and sustained energy without overstimulation.

Classified in traditional herbalism as an adaptogen and yin tonic, serving as the balancing partner to yang tonics like deer velvet.

Vanilla bean extract

Vanilla planifolia (bean)

Co-extracted with the antler and berry to refine the flavor profile of the final tincture. Real vanilla bean, not "natural flavoring."

Vanilla bean also contributes its own subtle compounds (vanillin, vanillic acid) to the formula, complementing the schisandra berry's complex flavor profile without dominating it.

Other ingredients

Water, vegetable glycerin, grain alcohol (corn-derived).

Daily protocol

Adults: Take 1 mL (one full dropper) once or twice daily.

Hold under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing for optimal absorption. Use consistently for best results.

What to expect

This is a daily tonic, not an immediate stimulant. Velvet & Schisandra is designed to build over weeks of consistent use, not produce a noticeable hit in the first 20 minutes.

Most customers begin noticing subtle effects, such as steadier energy, better stress resilience, and improved recovery, after 2 to 4 weeks of daily use. Some people notice changes sooner. Consistency matters far more than dosing big.

Timing

Morning is the most common time to take Velvet & Schisandra. It pairs well with coffee or tea, though it does not contain caffeine.

If you're taking 1 mL twice daily, space the second dose 6 to 8 hours after the first. Avoid taking close to bedtime if you find tonic herbs energizing.

Taste notes

Velvet & Schisandra contains naturally occurring IGF-1, a growth factor from deer velvet antler.

IGF-1 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List under Section S2.2 (Growth Factors and Growth Factor Modulators).

Athletes subject to anti-doping testing in regulated competition should consult their governing body before use. Individual league policies vary. This applies to NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, MMA organizations, Olympic sports, and other testing bodies.

Is the alcohol an issue?

Each 1 mL serving contains a very small amount of grain alcohol used in the triple extraction. If you avoid alcohol entirely for any reason (recovery, religious observance, etc.), this isn't the right product for you.

Is this safe for women?

For most healthy adult women, Velvet & Schisandra is safe and well-tolerated. However, due to the naturally occurring IGF-1 from deer velvet antler and the hormonal effects of schisandra, we do not recommend it for women who are pregnant, nursing, or have a history of hormone-sensitive conditions. Post-menopausal women with no hormone-related medical history are generally fine to use it.

Does this contain wheat or gluten?
